Almost all of our materials are sourced locally and we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint.

Our wood is certified sustainable, originating from renewable sources and sourced from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

Our audio speaker drivers are produced in Switzerland, Germany, Serbia and China. All these materials are Restriction of Hazardous Substances (ROHS) compliant.

Before we begin the design process, we like to think a few decades ahead - can we make something people will still love fifty years from now? Will they be using our speakers at a colony on Mars?

The design process is done in three stages. First, we create a vision for the speaker we want to create. Martin will draw up an initial visual concept of the design. This will establish what materials to use and what audio drivers to include.

The next stage is a simulation of the acoustic properties to help determine the acoustical and electrical design. Simulation is done by a highly-skilled specialist in electro-acoustical software. Our specialist also designs the ‘filter’ - a series of electrical components including inductors, condensers and resistors that divide up the frequency range to suit the various drivers in the design. Woofers are then used for the lower frequency bass sounds, midrange drivers for the mids and tweeters for the high frequencies. It’s all sounds very technical but to summarise; we make everything sound incredible.

The final stage is to build a prototype and carry out any last tweaks via extended testing. This is performed purely by ear to ensure the sound meets the original conceptual idea and our dizzyingly high standards. If the listener doesn’t feel like they are transcending, we haven’t done our job properly.

Cabinets & Woodwork

For woodwork and enclosures, we work exclusively with a local Swiss woodworker to ensure high-quality fit and finishes. The emphasis is on beautiful, natural work which elicits joy from anyone who looks at it. The process can take anything from weeks to months in order to manufacture prototypes which then become production-ready enclosures.

Electro Acoustical Engineer

We use an Electro Acoustical Engineer who specialises in loudspeakers, drive units, system designs and measurements to ensure highly optimised results. He knows his stuff, and he is every bit as passionate as we are. We work with the best.

Components

We assemble the final components in-house and rigorously test each speaker before it is shipped to ensure it meets our quality standards. For us, quality control is crucial as fresh coffee beans in the grinder. Each speaker has to achieve the final sound quality we are known for. If it isn’t perfect, it doesn’t leave our studio.
